The First District PTA Commemorative Scholarship Fund was established to commemorate First District PTA volunteers who were long-time, dedicated child advocates and whose tireless efforts contributed greatly to the benefit of students, parents, and schools within the geographic area of First District PTA. Commemorative scholarships are awarded in the amount of $800 per winner. Each are awarded to acknowledge graduating high school/college students from First District PTA member PTAs/PTSAs who have achievements, service, and involvement in the following areas, in priority order:
- COMMUNITY SERVICE: volunteerism within the PTA and other organizations
- EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES: work experience, unforeseen life changes
- LEADERSHIP: mentorship roles
- SCHOOL RELATED ACTIVITIES: unit's school site special interest groups or clubs for performing arts, sports, service, advocacy, religion, or student government
- EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: non-school site special interest groups or clubs for performing arts, sports, service, advocacy, religion, or student government
Applicant must be a PTA member and enrolled at a First District PTA unit in good standing.
DEADLINE: 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025. Submissions after the deadline will not be considered. High school and college PTAs/PTSAs must be in good standing with California State PTA. Winners will be announced at respective high school senior and college awards ceremonies.
